Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins has always been of the belief that Colin Kaepernick deserves an NFL job and does not have an NFL job because of non-football reasons, namely his demonstrations against racial and social injustices.
In expressing that view on Wednesday afternoon, Jenkins ended up (inadvertently?) criticizing the Eagles' Week 8 opponents.
#Eagles Malcolm Jenkins was speaking about the Players Coalition and noting his constant support for Colin Kaepernick when he added: "I can turn on the tape this week of our opponent (the #Jaguars) and see that Colin Kaepernick deserves a job."— Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) October 24, 2018
Well, Jenkins isn't wrong.
The Jaguars even benched Blake Bortles during last week's loss to the Texans to bring in Cody Kessler. And this week, Bortles is apparently going to be on a pretty short leash when the Jags face the Eagles at Wembley Stadium.
Bortles this season has completed 60 percent of his passes for nine touchdowns and eight interceptions, with a passer rating of 80.3. His career passer rating is 80.7.

In Kaepernick's last NFL season (2016), he threw 16 touchdowns and four interceptions and had a passer rating of 90.7. You can make the case that Kaepernick is better than Bortles and plenty of other quarterbacks still in the league.
In his full answer, Jenkins made sure to say that Eric Reid and Kaepernick - who began the movement in San Francisco - deserve jobs. Jenkins and Reid nearly got into a fight before Sunday's game, when Reid approached Jenkins before the coin flip. After the game, Reid called Jenkins a coward and a sellout, but Jenkins took the high road.
This isn't the first time Jenkins has said publicly that Kaepernick deserves a job and it probably won't be the last time. In fact, it might be fun if each week Jenkins says whether or not Kap is better than the starting QB he's about to face.
