Jake Elliott, Was That You? Giants Kicked in the Gut Again Before Matchup With Eagles

What's next, a 70-yard field goal?

That might be what the Giants were asking after their 33-31 loss Sunday to the Panthers in Week 5.

For New York, it was the awfully similar punch to the gut it took from the Eagles last season in Week 3. As just about every Eagles fan remembers, Jake Elliott dealt the division rival a crushing 27-24 loss with a 61-yard field goal.

The length of that boot made it pure torture for the Giants. The fact that they were also 0-2, desperate for a win and rallied from a 14-0 fourth-quarter deficit to take a 21-14 lead to only cough it up? Yeah, then it hurts even worse.

The pain returned this Sunday.

New York, at 1-3, overcame a 27-16 fourth-quarter hole to snare a 31-30 lead with 1:08 to go in regulation. But then the beloved kicker walked onto the field. Graham Gano bombed a 63-yard field goal to give the Giants a 33-31 loss in the final seconds.
