Drew Pearson Has Tremendous Response for Booing Eagles Fans at NFL Draft

As much as you might hate Drew Pearson, one of the Cowboys' all-time great receivers, you've got to give him credit for this.

Roger Goodell tried to have some fun with the Philly fans, who booed him mightily (so mightily it was expressed over closed captioning) when he took the stage at the start of Rounds 1 and 2 of the NFL draft.

But he paled in comparison to Pearson, who was ready for the awesomely rude reception.

"All right. How about dem Cowboys!" he said. "I want to thank the Eagle fans for allowing me to have a career in the NFL. Thank you.

"I am honored as an undrafted free agent to be selected to make the Cowboys' second-round draft pick ...

"... and on behalf of the five-time World Champion Dallas Cowboys, Hall of Fame owner Jerry Jones, Gene Jones and the Jones family, Jason Garrett, all the Cowboys players that played before me and played with me and played after me.

Eagles-Buccaneers player matchups to watch in Week 3

Eagles get three key players back at practice to kick off Week 3

"With the 60th pick  in the second round, the Dallas Cowboys select defensive back from Colorado Chidobe Awuzie."

Fittingly, it's a corner the Eagles could have used.

A three-time Pro Bowler and three-time first-team All-Pro, Pearson spent all 11 of his NFL seasons with the Cowboys (1973-83) and won one Super Bowl. He had 72 receptions for 950 yards and five touchdowns in 20 career games - 15 of them wins - against the Eagles. He actually compiled more yardage and touchdown receptions against each of the other NFC East teams (Redskins, Giants and Cardinals) than the Eagles.

Can hear the boos better here ...
