Tonight's Lineup: Andres Blanco Gets a Third Straight Start

Desperate for offense, the Phillies are — for the first time this season — keeping infielder Andres Blanco in the starting lineup for a third straight game.

Blanco, one of the Phils' few consistent bats the last two years, is hitting .271/.338/.457 with 10 extra-base hits in 77 plate appearances. In 13 starts, he's hit .292 with an .829 OPS and six of those extra-base hits.

Blanco bats second and plays shortstop after starting at third base on Wednesday and at second base Thursday.

The Phillies' offense has been even worse than usual during their seven-game losing streak, scoring 12 runs total, or 1.7 per game. Over the last week, the Phils have hit .189 in 222 at-bats with a .239 on-base percentage. They have 15 extra-base hits in those seven games compared to their opponents' 30.

Jimmy Paredes, acquired Wednesday from Toronto, remains in the lineup. He bats fifth and plays right field. Cody Asche starts for a second straight night as well, batting sixth and playing left field.
