NBC Sports Philadelphia sat down with Philadelphia Phillies slugger Rhys Hoskins and his fiancée Jayme Burmudez to get to know their cute dog named Rookie.
He is a 2-year-old English Golden Retriever who Hoskins had his eyes set on for years. It took some convincing to get Jayme on board with the idea of a dog though.
"He had Rookie's name picked out before Rookie even existed by like three years," Jayme told us. "Rookie is always happy, always content with whatever he's doing."
One of the best things about having Rookie is that no matter how Rhys performed at the ball park that day, the dog is always happy to see his best friend return home.
"Who doesn't love a dog," Hoskins added.
