The Philadelphia Flyers were one of just three NHL teams to send four players to the Team Canada orientation camp in Calgary.
The four Flyers attending Team Canada’s camp are Jeff Carter, Mike Richards, Simon Gagne and Chris Pronger.
Both Gagne and Pronger won a gold medal with Team Canada in the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Carter was second in the league last year with 46 goals, trailing only Washington Capitals superstar Alexander Ovechkin, who tallied 56.

Gagne suffered a setback on the first day of camp when he strained his groin, but the injury didn’t appear to be too serious. The Flyers flew Simon back to Philly to get a second opinion only as a precaution.
We are eager to see how on-ice rivals Mike Richards and Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins co-exist after two heated playoff series in consecutive seasons.
Richards and Crosby both won gold for Canada at the 2005 World Junior Championships - Richards was captain of that team.
