Week 13 NFL Power Rankings: Eagles Slip Another Spot After Loss to Seahawks

The Eagles (5-6) lost 17-9 to the Seahawks in Week 12, so they fall another spot in the latest NFC power rankings.

An updated look:

1. 49ers (10-1) Last week: 2
The Niners put a 37-8 beatdown on the Packers on Sunday night. Huge win for them. I know the Seahawks beat them a few weeks ago in overtime, but the overall body of work tells me that the 49ers are the slightly better team. Two really tough games upcoming … at Baltimore and then at New Orleans.

2. Seahawks (9-2) Last week: 1
It wasn't a blowout, but the Seahawks really controlled the whole game against the Eagles in Philadelphia. They were a few missed plays away from that 17-9 final score ballooning to a much bigger win.

3. Saints (9-2) Last week: 4
The Panthers gave them a scare, but the Saints pulled out a 34-31 win at home. Drew Brees threw three touchdowns and Michael Thomas went for 10/101/1. These guys do it every week.

4. Packers (8-3) Last week: 3
Tough outing for Green Bay, who should have at least been able to stick with the Niners. They couldn't and were crushed 37-8. Games against the Giants and Redskins on deck.

5. Vikings (8-3) Last week: 5
The Vikings won the last two games before their Week 12 bye and have won six of seven after a 2-2 start. They'll travel to Seattle this weekend.

6. Cowboys (6-5) Last week: 6
Dallas had a chance to go to New England and beat the Patriots and they blew it. Before their Week 16 matchup in Philly, the Cowboys have to play the Bills, Bears and Rams. What are their chances of going 3-0 in those games?

7. Rams (6-5) Last week: 7
The Rams are definitely broken. They were smashed by the Ravens on national TV last week. They lost 45-6 and it wasn't even that close. After getting to a 5-3 record at their bye week, they've lost two of three.

8. Panthers (5-6) Last week: 9
They played the Saints tight and lost 34-31. That would have been a huge win and now they've lost four of their last five games after a 4-2 start. No one really expected to see them keep it going forever, but they're really fallen off. Still, they were tied 31-31 with the Saints in the fourth quarter.

9. Eagles (5-6) Last week: 8
A small slip from the Eagles after that pathetic offensive performance. Sure, they were missing key pieces on offense, but that was awful. And Carson Wentz had one of the worst games of his career. Three winnable games upcoming before that showdown with the Cowboys.

10. Bears (5-6) Last week: 10
They beat the Giants; woo-hoo! I guess a win is a win, and the Bears have won two of three, but they're not a very good team. They haven't gotten more than 20 points in a game since October.

11. Buccaneers (4-7) Last week: 13
A nice 35-22 win over the Falcons makes the Bucs the king of the basement-dwelling NFC teams. Chris Godwin had 184 receiving yards and two touchdowns. And Jameis Winston threw two picks, but had three touchdowns and helped the Bucs get enough points to take down the Falcons.

12. Falcons (3-8) Last week: 11
Atlanta won two straight before that loss to the Bucs and now they'll face the Saints and Panthers. The Falcons went to New Orleans on Nov. 10 and beat the Saints 26-9, so maybe they win again. Or maybe the Saints are ready for revenge.

13. Cardinals (3-7-1) Last week: 14
The Cardinals will come off their bye with three straight home games against the Rams, Steelers and Browns. They lost their last four before the bye.

14. Lions (3-7-1) Last week: 12
They really lost to the Redskins. Awful. This team was supposed to be better this year, but now it looks like Matt Patricia might not keep his job. It's a shame Matt Stafford got hurt, but even if he was healthy, this isn't a good team.

15. Redskins (2-9) Last week: 16
A big win for Washington gets the Redskins out of the basement. I can't believe it took them more than like two weeks to go to Dwayne Haskins. At least there's a little bit of energy back there.

16. Giants (2-9) Last week: 15
I know the Giants beat the Redskins 24-3 earlier in the year, but since then, they've lost seven straight games and are a complete mess.
