Union's Eight-game Unbeaten Streak Ends in 3-2 Loss at NYCFC

NEW YORK -- Frank Lampard scored his first goal of the season and NYCFC earned a 3-2 victory over the Philadelphia Union on Saturday.

David Villa and Andrea Pirlo also scored for NYCFC (5-5-6), which is in second in the Eastern Conference behind Philadelphia (6-4-5). The Union had their club-record eight-game unbeaten streak end.

Lampard's goal in the eighth minute came in his first start of the season. Villa scored his 11th goal of the season in the 21st minute. Pirlo converted a free kick for his first career MLS goal in the 50th minute.

Roland Alberg scored on a penalty kick in the 55th minute and the Union pulled within 3-2 on Frederic Brillant's own goal in the 88th minute.

NYCFC's Jason Hernandez picked up his second yellow card in the 85th minute and was ejected.
