Markelle Fultz Update: Guard Will Reportedly Continue to See Specialists Through Early Next Week

Before Wednesday's game, Sixers head coach Brett Brown mentioned that general manager Elton Brand and the Sixers "hoped to give more information" on Markelle Fultz on Friday, though he said an update might come later.

Later it is, according to a report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Fultz will continue to see specialists through early next week, Wojnarowski reports.

Fultz hasn't played or practiced with the Sixers since last Tuesday, when Fultz and his agent Raymond Brothers made the decision to hold the second-year guard out until he saw a shoulder specialist in New York on Monday.

Since then, reports have come out that Fultz "could prefer a change in scenery" and would also have his wrist examined, and that Fultz is not in the Sixers' long-term plans.

We'll have to wait a little longer to learn what is gleaned from Fultz's consultations. In the meantime, rumors will surely continue to swirl about his future with the Sixers and possible trade destinations.

Brown said at Thursday's practice that Fultz was present and watched from the sidelines, but he did not participate.
