Did Patrick Corbin's Brother Drop a Hint About Where He'll Sign?

Isn't free agency fun?

Two weeks ago we saw a photo of Bryce Harper on the video board in Chicago, and this week, the talk is all about the highly-coveted pitcher, Patrick Corbin. Corbin was confirmed to have been in Philadelphia, as well as several other cities seeking his services, but this nugget of information from his wedding is making people jump to a conclusion.

Ah, yes, the best-man speech, a classic of most weddings. Does this mean anything? My guess is no. Look, would Corbin, who was born in Clay, New York, like to play for the Yankees someday? Maybe, but his hometown is actually about the same distance to Yankee Stadium as it is to Citizens Bank Park.

He has reportedly received great interest from the Yankees, Nationals and Phillies and could be seeking greater than $150 million on a long-term deal, but would he spurn the best offer for his career just to be close to home?

Corbin, 29, gets one shot at the contract of a lifetime and while being close to home is a major factor for a number of free agents, landing in New York, Philadelphia and Washington would give his family the chance to hop on a train every fifth day to see him pitch.

We're chalking this up to just another classic best-man speech and not an indication with certainty about where he's headed.
