Carson Wentz Hunting Tweet Elicits Huge Reaction

Eagles fans miss Carson Wentz dearly.

So it's no surprise when the injured quarterback sent a tweet Monday -- any tweet -- he got an overwhelming response.

It was a seemingly innocuous enough tweet wishing his cute little dog Henley a happy birthday.

It included a couple of photos of the pup including one after a successful hunting trip in which Wentz downed a number of geese.

One of his Twitter followers pointed out to Wentz that the first photo of the dead birds could be viewed as offensive.

Wentz responded:

Appreciate that, but offensive and controversial? Two of the main things I tweet about are Jesus and hunting. That's what I'm passionate about and that won't ever change! When you love something, you talk about it! Stay convicted about it and don't worry what others think!

Carson's response got thousands of retweets and over 20,000 faves.

This isn't the first time hunting has elicited a strong response in people. Wentz has shared impressive videos of his hunting exploits in the past. The 700 Level even commented on the large number or birds killed and learned that some of them in Arkansas are nuisance birds that are destroying habitat for other species. Hunting them is encouraged.

Hunting is always going to be a hot button issue for some people. It's also something Carson is very passionate about. So don't expect the quarterback to change.

You can see dozens of Wentz's hunting adventures on his Wentz Bros. Outdoors YouTube channel. Here's one on the aforementioned geese in Arkansas.
