Jay Cutler: not a boy, not yet handling things like an adult.

Jay Cutler has been the biggest offseason story in the NFL, and the reason for that is Jay Cutler. His temper tantrum -- brought on by new GM Josh McDaniels' poor handling of a trade rumor that involved Cutler and former Patriots quarterback Matt Cassel -- has caused a near-total breakdown in communication in Denver.

What started as whining has escalated into a genuine opportunity for the Broncos to rid themselves of the quarterback. Teams are openly vying for Cutler's services. It doesn't look good, does it?

Alas, Cutler has come back from the ledge. Now the young QB is saying he doesn't want to be traded after all:

"I was surprised they decided to trade me this soon," Cutler said. "I didn't want to get traded. This wasn't me. (The Broncos) had been going back and forth saying things, wanting me to be their quarterback and then they didn't."

"I really didn't want this. I love Denver. I really like my teammates. I didn't want it to get this far."

Unfortunately, that's not what Jay said a few weeks ago. In fact, it comes a few weeks too late. A trade appears inevitable, and whether that's Cutler's fault, or the Broncos', or some combination therein, if Denver gets a decent return for Cutler, a trade is going down.

This is what happens when adults can't talk out their problems. Don't be that guy.
