Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz to Head DNC

President Obama has tapped Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz to chair the Democratic National Committee going into his 2012 re-election fight, NBC News and Politico reported. The four-term congresswoman will take the reins of the Democratic campaign-boosting organization from Tim Kaine, who said Tuesday he plans to run in Virginia’s Senate race. Wasserman Schultz represents a safe district for Democrats and she is viewed as media savvy and a good fundraiser, according to the Miami New Times.
