Paterno Hospitalized After Fall: AP

Joe Paterno was admitted to the hospital Sunday after refracturing his pelvis following a fall at his home, a source close to the family of the former Penn State coach told The Associated Press. The source said no surgery was required, but Paterno – who was recently diagnosed with lung cancer – will stay in the hospital to continue his treatment while recovering from the injury. Paterno initially hurt his pelvis when a player accidentally blindsided him during preseason practice. The 84-year-old, who coached Penn State for 46 years, was fired last month amid criticism that he should have done more to prevent alleged sex abuse by his longtime former assistant coach, Jerry Sandusky.
