Son, Mother Plead Guilty in Boeing Engineer's Death

A Delaware County man and his mother admitted Thursday to their roles in the killing of her husband, his father, in January 2008.

Bhavnaben Ingle, 53, and her son Parth Ingle, 26, were accused of beating and stabbing 55-year-old Arunkumar Ingle inside their home on the 200 block of Chestnut Avenue in Middletown Township.

More serious charges were dropped against both suspects as they pleaded to lesser charges. Parth Ingle pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and was sentenced to serve three to five years in prison. His mother pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit voluntary manslaughter and was given immediate parole after being credited for spending about 10 months behind bars.

Ingle says he wanted his father, a Boeing engineer, to stay to keep the family together rather than run off to India with a mistress. He allegedly found out about his father's affair by hacking into his email account and GPS device. Spying charges from that charge were dropped against his sister in October 2011.

Police say Parth picked up his mother from her home the day of Arunkumar's murder. When he arrived, police say both Parth and Bhavnaben argued with Arunkumar.

Parth Ingle says he wrestled a baseball bat and knife from his father during the struggle at his parents' home.

Police say the elder Parth died from blunt force head injuries as well as multiple stab wounds to his head and neck.

Delaware County Judge Barry Dozor says he's concerned it took nearly five years for Parth Ingle to come clean.

Parth was arrested on Dec. 21, 2011 and charged with murder. His mother was arrested Feb. 2.
