Elderly Driver Dies, Husband Hurt When Car Strikes Pole in Delaware

Delaware State Police said a woman died and her husband was injured when their car hit a utility pole in Stanton.

It happened about 9:45 a.m. Tuesday on Ogletown-Stanton Road. Troopers said 86-year-old Mary A. Frisbie of Newark was driving west when her car left the road and hit a utility pole.

Police said she died at a local hospital. Her husband, 95-year-old Arthur Frisbie, was taken to the hospital with injuries that authorities said did not appear to be life-threatening.

The crash is under investigation.
