For the second time in two years, Verizon is making major enhancements to its network in Philadelphia – ensuring the city is ready to handle the texts, emails, tweets and other posts being sent by the tens of thousands of visitors in town for the Democratic National Convention.
Building on the investments the telecommunications giant made in Philadelphia last year ahead of Pope Francis' historic visit, Verizon is making upgrades to locations that are crucial to the convention's success.
"We are going to install a system that will provide our customers with six times more capacity at the Wells Fargo Center," said Andrew Testa, a Verizon spokesman.
