Eastern Pennsylvania's federal courts are getting two new judges following unanimous approval by the U.S. Senate.
The Senate on Thursday confirmed President Barack Obama's nominations of Nitza Quinones Alejandro and Jeffrey Schmehl.
Quinones Alejandro has spent more than two decades on the bench in Philadelphia and is a former federal government attorney.
Schmehl comes to the federal system after serving as a Berks County judge since 1998.
