A woman didn’t have a job yet, but she was already digging into the tips at one potential employer like she worked there, police say.
Police say a woman applying for a job at a Rehoboth Beach restaurant stole money from a tip jar.
Rehoboth Beach police say the woman filled out an application at Five Guys last Friday, then took about $15 from two separate jars.
Police say a review of the application and surveillance footage led to the arrest of 44-year-old Melissa Brittingham, who lives in Rehoboth Beach.
Brittingham later pleaded guilty to a theft charge in Justice of the Peace Court and received one year of probation. She must also pay a $500 fine and court costs.
