A Delaware boy was shot during an attempted robbery Sunday while he was on his way to go sledding with a friend, according to New Castle County Police.
The shooting occured when a 16-year-old and a friend were walking when a man approached them and tried to rob them at gunpoint. When he realized the boys had nothing to take, he fired a shot striking the teen.
The victim fled to a relatives house and collapsed.
The teen, who was underwent emergency surgery at Christiana Hospital, is in stable condition, said police.
