A teacher's aide at a western Pennsylvania high school has waived a preliminary hearing on charges she had sex with a 17-year-old male student three or four times at her home.
Thirty-nine-year-old Christina Domme, of New Kensington, and her attorney declined comment after waiving the hearing Thursday. That means she must now stand trial or work out a plea deal on the charge of institutional sexual assault.
If Domme hadn't been an aide at Valley High School, no crime would have been committed because he's old enough in Pennsylvania to consent to the sex. But the instructor-student relationship makes it illegal.

Police learned of the incidents in November when the boy's mother noticed $300 worth of new clothes he had. Domme allegedly bought them for the boy, which led to the discovery of the sex.
