Voters have approved a ballot question that would allow a southern New Jersey town to create and sell liquor licenses.
Supporters hope the referendum will give Upper Deerfield Township's economy a boost.
Township Clerk Roy Spoltore tells The Press of Atlantic City the Cumberland County community has been dry since at least 1972 when voters rejected a question to allow the sale of alcohol.
Based on the size of its population, Upper Deerfield will be permitted to sell two liquor licenses.
