ShopRite Employee Sexually Assaults Customer: Cops

Police arrested a man who allegedly sexually assaulted customers while working at ShopRite

Police arrested a Lower Township Shoprite employee who allegedly sexually assaulted a customer last year.

It happened October 6, 2011 at the Shoprite in Somers Point. Police say Jose Vargas, 36, sexually assaulted the victim while working in loss prevention at the grocery store, according to the AC Press. Police arrested Vargas for the crime last Saturday.

The AC Press reports Vargas was also arrested last November for allegedly assaulting customers while working as a loss prevention officer at the Shoprite and Walmart in Middle Township. Vargas is charged with sexual assault, criminal sexual contact and criminal restraint. He was remanded to the Atlantic County Jail on $50,000 bail.
