A young man died overnight after police say he was shot outside a nightclub in Philadelphia's Kensington neighborhood.

Police said the 26-year-old victim, later identified as Raymond Pantoja of Wellens Road, got into an altercation with a group of people outside Nivel Nightclub, at B Street and Allegheny Avenue just before gunfire erupted about 2:45 a.m. The victim was wounded in the left side of his chest.

Police took Pantoja to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
