Police in eastern Pennsylvania said a police dog injured in a fall has been released from the hospital and is on his way home.
Reading police said K-9 officer Cody fell 15 to 20 feet off a catwalk while helping his handler search for possible intruders at Southwest Middle School on Friday night.
The 3-year-old Belgian Malinois was flown to the University of Pennsylvania veterinary hospital due to concerns that he might have internal bleeding.
Reading police said on their Facebook page on Sunday evening that Cody was being released and was headed home.
Cody will have follow up appointments in the coming days a weeks.
