Remember that huge piñata on Broad Street that almost caused a riot last week?
Well, its still standing all 6-stories tall in a vacant lot at Broad and Washington Streets guarded by three security personnel, according local blog Philly Chit Chat.
To refresh your memory, the piñata was part of a commercial shoot for Carnival Cruise Lines.
The cruise company built the world’s largest piñata, filled it with 8,000 lbs. of candy and then threw a huge public party to watch it be broken open.
The problem was Carnival did not realize just how popular the event would be. Over 7,000 people showed up to grab some of the candy and when the crowd became unruly, the Philly PD shut down the event.
Carnival finished the shoot without the crowds and apparently left the piñata in tact.
The word on the street is that the wrecking ball will be brought in on Sunday, but no one knows for sure.
