A teen strangled his psychiatric hospital roommate during an argument, police say

Police say they've charged a teenager with strangling his roommate at a psychiatric hospital in West Philadelphia.

Authorities have charged 18-year-old Bryant Sheard in the death of 23-year-old Anthony Bailey.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Bailey was strangled during an argument on Wednesday night at Belmont Behavioral Health. He was pronounced dead at Hahnemann University Hospital.

Sheard has an address in the city's Holmesburg section while Bailey was from the Olney neighborhood.

Sheard was taken into custody at the private hospital and charged with murder. It was not immediately clear if he has a lawyer.
