Philadelphia Inquirer Co-Owner Files Countersuit

A co-owner of The Philadelphia Inquirer has filed a countersuit against another co-owner in the latest sigh of ongoing internal warfare at the embattled newspaper.

George Norcross filed the suit Thursday in Delaware's Chancery Court against fellow Interstate General Media co-owner and former New Jersey Nets owner Lewis Katz.

Norcross' suit comes in response to a lawsuit filed last week by fellow owners Katz and cable TV mogul H.F. "Gerry" Lenfest that accuses Inquirer publisher Bob Hall of overstepping his authority by firing Pulitzer Prize-winning editor Bill Marimow.

Norcross claims in his countersuit that Katz meddled in "editorial and journalistic operations of the papers" and is intentionally trying to prevent Interstate General Media from defending itself in court.
