Lunchroom Argument Leads to Brawl Involving 50 Students, Two Boys Injured

A brawl involving more than 50 high school students after an argument in a cafeteria has left two boys with serious injuries.

Police in Allentown say two 16-year-old boys suffered concussions, bruises and cuts after they were kicked, punched and pistol whipped in a Wednesday afternoon assault near Dieruff High School.

Police arrested seven students and charged them with assault. Two boys face weapons offenses, but Capt. Bill Reinik told the Morning Call that they didn't say where they got the guns or if they had them at school.

Reinik says the fight began with an argument in the lunchroom after one of the students threw something at another boy. After an argument, they agreed to meet in an alley to fight after school.
