Philadelphia Union Teams up With Uber

The Philadelphia Union have formed a partnership with the ridesharing company Uber – a decision that could upset taxi advocates if the team's fans are traveling between Philly and the Delaware County home of the MLS team.

The deal gives Uber a dedicated pick-up and drop-off location at Talen Energy Stadium in Chester, Pa., for the Major League Soccer club’s entire 2016.

“We’re always looking for ways to improve the convenience factor for our fans and we’re genuinely excited to team up with Uber to offer an easy, reliable and safe option to commute to [the stadium],” said Drew Young, the Philadelphia Union’s vice president of corporate partnerships and premium seating. "This will benefit patrons from all over the greater Philadelphia region and truly creates the easiest transportation method we’ve ever had."
