Philadelphia's Unemployment Rate Drops

Philadelphia’s unemployment rate fell to 6.5 percent in April, a big drop from March's 7.1 percent.

“Philadelphia is on the rise and our Administration is focused on ensuring that all Philadelphians share in this prosperity,” said Mayor Michael A. Nutter in a statement today. “We are strengthening our efforts to support business growth and attract new companies to a city that is gaining an unprecedented level of attention.”

The city's unemployment rate is still above the national average of 5.4 percent for April, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Read more about Philly jobs at PBJ.com
