CHOP Opens Third Urgent Care Center

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia opened its third urgent care center Monday.

The new facility is located at its pediatric specialty care center in Chalfont, Pa. CHOP also has urgent care facilities in Mays Landing, N.J., and King of Prussia, Pa.

All three urgent care centers are staffed by CHOP pediatricians and nurses, and provide after-hours care for children with non-life-threatening illnesses or injuries that do not require the resources of an emergency room. The centers are designed to handle health problems such as ear infections, rashes, headaches, minor burns, wounds requiring stitches, mild to moderate asthma, and broken bones.
