Firefighters had to rescue one person from a burning building in West Philly as they battled flames and heavy smoke early Thursday morning.
The blaze erupted in the mixed-use property located on the corner of 52nd and Arch streets around 1:50 a.m., according to officials.
Crews contained the fire and rescued one resident from the second-floor apartments, according to authorities.
Two others were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. An investigation is underway.
