NJ Couple Accused of Stealing Money From Softball Group

Authorities say a southern New Jersey couple stole money from a girls softball organization that they helped oversee.

Burlington County prosecutors say 34-year-old Pemberton Township resident Daniel O'Hara and his 35-year-old wife, Malissa O'Hara, were both charged with theft by deception and misapplication of entrusted property. They were arrested Friday and released without bail.

Investigators say the thefts occurred between May and October, when the O'Haras allegedly spent more than $3,600 in organization funds on personal expenses. Daniel O'Hara was the organization's president at the time and Malissa O'Hara was its treasurer.

The O'Hara's were removed from their positions on the league's board of directors. They didn't have children playing in the league during the time the thefts allegedly occurred.
