Marijuana Selfies on Instagram Lead to Arrest

Police say photos of marijuana plants on Instagram led to an arrest in South Jersey.

Connor Kennedy, 20, of Sicklerville, New Jersey was arrested Thursday and accused of growing marijuana inside an abandoned home.

An investigation began after witnesses reported seeing seven marijuana plants being grown on the rear deck of an abandoned home on Brearly Drive in Sicklerville.

Winslow Township Police conducted surveillance of the home during the week of July 13 and observed Kennedy tending to the marijuana plants during the late night and early morning hours, investigators said. Police also say Kennedy posted several pictures of himself with the marijuana plants on Instagram, which helped them in their investigation.

Kennedy was processed and later released.
