Man shot, killed outside West Oak Lane mini-market, police say

The incident happened on the 6700 block of Ogontz Avenue at 11:49 a.m.

Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed in Philadelphia's West Oak Lane neighborhood Thursday morning.

According to police, officers responded to the 6700 block of Ogontz Avenue at 11:49 a.m. after receiving reports of a person with a gun.

Upon arrival, officers found a man - later identified as 31-year-old Jonathan Bantum of Philadelphia - lying in the doorway of Ogontz Mini Market with multiple gunshot wounds to his body.

Police transported him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:58 a.m., police said.

There were no weapons recovered and police said no arrests have been made in this case.
