Son Murders Mom, Dad, Twin Brother: Cops

Montgomery County authorities charged a 23-year-old man with the stabbing deaths of his father, mother and twin brother, reports The Times Herald.

The paper reports Joseph McAndrew, Jr., 23, was arrested Saturday and charged with three counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Joseph C. McAndrew, 70, Susan C. McAndrew, 64, and James McAndrew, 23.

According to an affidavit, all three were killed by “multiple cuts and lacerations” in the family home on the 200 block of Holstein Road. All three were discovered in the kitchen of their home Saturday night.

Police say they recovered several knives and a "blood-covered 'samurai style' sword" from the home.

Authorities said in an affidavit of probable cause that arriving officers found 23-year-old Joseph McAndrew Jr. in the driveway with his shoes and pants "covered in blood."

Several neighbors say they are in shock and described the family as nice people.

"My mind is not working what to say and what not to say," Javed Ahmed said. "It's a big shock, I mean three people killed right across the street from our house, nice people."

McAndrew is being held without bail pending a March 15 hearing.

A news conference is scheduled for Monday at 11 a.m.
