โ€œMad Hatterโ€ Package Puts Germantown High on Lockdown

Suspicious package turns out to not be dangerous & all clear is given

A suspicious box with โ€œmad hatter, ha, ha, haโ€ written on it found on a nearby sidewalk caused Germantown High School to be put on lockdown Tuesday morning as the Philadelphia Police bomb squad was called to investigate.

Officers were called to area of Haines Street and Germantown Avenue a little after 9:30 a.m. as students and teachers were asked to stay put in the school, police told NBC10.

After less than an hour, the box, which was found on the 5900 block of Germantown Avenue, was determined to pose no threat and police gave the all clear.

No one was hurt.

It wasnโ€™t clear who left the box on the sidewalk.
