Elderly Man Killed in Home, Dumped in Woods

State and federal authorities say an elderly man whose body was found in a wooded area in northeastern Pennsylvania had been killed inside his southeastern Pennsylvania home.

Authorities in Montgomery County announced Wednesday that the death of 88-year-old Jack St. Onge of Plymouth Township had been ruled a homicide.

St. Onge's body was identified following an autopsy by the Susquehanna County coroner's office. Crews clearing brush in Gibson Township found his body wrapped in a tarp along Route 2036 on Friday morning.

Authorities announced a joint investigation by state and local police and prosecutors in both counties. Officials said the crime scene is being processed as part of the homicide and abuse of a corpse investigation.
