Intruders broke into a Laurel home, hit a sleeping 78-year-old homeowner in the head with a blunt object and then tied him up before robbing him.
Delaware State Police said the man was sleeping in his bedroom early Thursday morning when he was awoken after a man hit him in the head. As that intruder tied up the 78-year-old, Delaware State Police said a second man rummaged through the room until he found money.
Once they got the cash, the two men fled.
Responding police said the 78-year-old had minor injuries and refused medical treatment.
Investigators said they don't believe the home invasion was a random act and that the victim was specifically targeted.
