Man in Critical, Another in Custody After DUI Crash in Philly: Police

One man is fighting for his life while another is in custody following a DUI crash in Philadelphia early Sunday morning, according to police.

Police say a 51-year-old man was driving a 1997 BMW southbound on Tacony Street at 1:21 a.m. when he struck a 2005 Honda Civic driven by a 30-year-old man which was turning west onto Vankirk.

The 30-year-old man was ejected from his vehicle. He was taken to Aria Torresdale Hospital where he is currently in critical condition with head trauma and a broken right leg.

The 51-year-old was also taken to Aria Torresdale and treated for pain and a cut to the left forehead. Police say the man was driving under the influence and charges against him are pending. He is currently in custody.
