The cost of commuting will stay the same for motorists who use bridges operated by the Delaware River Port Authority.
The DRPA on Wednesday approved an $89 million budget that holds the line on tolls on its four bridges. The board deferred raising the $5 roundtrip toll for at least another two years.
The Courier-Post of Cherry Hill reports vice chairman Jeffrey Nash says the next goal is to find a way to enact a commuter discount.
Nash says the authority is in a strong financial position after reducing debt service and lowering costs through efficiencies.
Operation expenses are expected to increase nearly $3 million, mainly to cover higher health care and pension costs for the DRPA's approximately 850 employees.
