61-Year-Old Dies in Hit-and-Run, Driver Sought

An autopsy was set for a 61-year-old man struck by a vehicle in northeastern Pennsylvania as police continued searching for the driver.

Police in Hanover Township, near Wilkes-Barre, say Larry Herbert was crossing a street near a bar when he was hit about 11:30 p.m. Friday.

The vehicle in question was a silver Jeep Cherokee that didn't stop.

Herbert was from Wilkes-Barre and was reportedly walking across the street to wait for a ride home.

The Luzerne County coroner planned an autopsy Monday morning.
