Runners, walkers and cyclists of the beloved Schuylkill River Trail are encouraged to join the newly formed Schuylkill River Trail Watch.
The formation of the trail watch is an initiative which started in late 2015 after a spike in criminal activity along the river.
Councilman Kenyatta Johnson is collaborating with stakeholders to provide information sessions for those interested in participating.
The Trail Watch aims to improve the overall safety of the trail, and to address concerns about robbery, harassment, and overall security.
Councilman Johnson will be joined by the Philadelphia Police Department, the Schuylkill River Development Corporation, and several other organizations on Thursday, February 11th for an information session.
