Tens of thousands of runners got the good news Monday morning that they had won the lottery to run in this spring's Blue Cross Broad Street Run.
But, for those who didn’t there is still hope to get one of those coveted bibs and give back to the community in the process.
Soon after the 10-mile road race sent out confirmation emails to runners who got in and those who didn't, the run posted a list of charities including the American Cancer Society, Back on My Feet, Fairmount Park Conservancy and Students Run Philly Style that have bibs available to runners willing to raise at least $500 for the charity.
Around 40,000 runners are expected to take part in the May 1 run from Olney to the Navy Yard that is dubbed the largest 10-miler in the country.
