Anonymous Donor Gifts $10 Million to Princeton University

Princeton University is using a hefty gift from an anonymous donor to open a behavioral science and public policy center.

NJ.com reported Princeton announced the $10 million gift Monday. It's using the money to create the Daniel Kahneman and Anne Treisman Center for Behavioral Science and Public Policy.

The university says the donor has long been an admirer of Kahneman and Treisman, who are married.

Officials say the center will build on research that earned Kahneman a Nobel Prize in economic sciences in 2002. The work integrated psychological research with economics and focused on decision making under uncertainty.

University President Christopher Eisgruber says the gift will allow the university to deepen its efforts in a "promising'' area of teaching and research.
