3 Adults, 9 Teens Charged in Attack on 2 Students Near High School in Allentown

Three adults and nine teens were arrested in connection to an attack on two students near a high school in Allentown.

On Tuesday around 2:10 p.m., Allentown police responded to a report of an assault at Kearney and Washington streets near Dieruff High School. When they arrived they found two 16-year-old students who told investigators they had been confronted by a group of more than 50 people. The students said around 20 members of the group began to attack them. During the attack, two suspects pulled out weapons and pistol whipped the victims in the head, according to police.

The two teen victims were taken to local hospitals and treated for head trauma.

Allentown Police Captain Bill Reinik told the Morning Call the fight began with an argument in the lunchroom after one of the students threw something at another boy. After an argument, they agreed to meet in an alley to fight after school, according to investigators.

Allentown Police arrested six teens and one adult blocks away from the incident a few hours after the attack. The six teens were detained by Lehigh County Probation while the adult, identified as Joushten Rodriguez, 18, of Allentown, was taken into custody.

As the investigation continued, Allentown Police obtained cellphone video of the attack and identified five more suspects, two adults and three teens. The adults, identified as Brian Pearsall, 18, of Whitehall, and Isaiah Alacron, 18, of Allentown, were both arrested Thursday. Two of the teens were taken into custody Friday while a warrant remains open for the third teen suspect.
