North Philly Woman Killed by Pit Bull Dogs

Family argument led to attack: police

A 38-year-old North Philadelphia woman was brutally attacked and killed Saturday morning by two pit bull dogs in her home Saturday.

Investigators said 37-year-old Kristine Staab was killed inside her Kensington home in the 1400 block of East Oxford Avenue.

Officers were forced to shoot and kill two of the pit bulls. There were a total of 6 dogs in the home.

The Philadelphia Animal Care and Control Association removed the other dogs from the house.

Neighbors said the drama began when Staab, who neighbors say was on drugs, and her mother got into and argument and the dogs intervened.

"She asked her to leave this morning. She's had a restraining order in the past. So this isn't the first altercation the mother and daughter has had," said one neighbor.
