Tires Slashed in Northeast Philadelphia

The owners of 7 or 8 vehicles discovered the damage early Tuesday. One victim tells NBC10 it will cost about $1,000 to repair the damage.

Neighbors in Northeast Philadelphia woke up Tuesday to find the tires slashed and flattened on their cars and other vehicles.

The damage was done to about 8 cars and a motorcycle on the 1200 block of Serota Place.

Constantine Krinsky says all the tires were slashed on his two cars. He estimates the cost at about $1,000 to fix or replace the tires.

“Better hope the police find them before I do, because this is not good, said Krinsky.”

Philadelphia police checking the neighborhood told NBC10 they can’t say yet who may be responsible for the damage.

Early Monday morning tires on four cars were slashed outside Sweeney’s Station Saloon on Philmont Avenue in the Somerton section of the city.

Over the last several months Philadelphia detectives investigated vandalism to cars in Feltonville, Point Breeze, Germantown, Nicetown and South Philadelphia. An arrest was made in a string of slashed tires in Mayfair.
