A defense attorney says a former Carnegie Mellon University student will plead guilty to charges that he made video recordings of fellow male students in dormitory showers.

Attorney Robert Leight made that announcement Wednesday after 19-year-old Daniel Jorge, of East Williston, New York, waived his right to a preliminary hearing on invasion of privacy charges.

Leight says he's hopeful Jorge will receive some kind of probation and court-ordered counseling.

He says his client "knows he was wrong" and is already in counseling.

Police say Jorge had videos of more than 30 male students on his iPhone and computer hard drive before he was arrested last month.

Police say they started investigating Jorge after another student saw him recording two people showering in a dormitory bathroom without their knowledge.
